Too Many Bees to Count
Glover did the math and estimated that there were around 35,000 bees in the hive. That’s relatively large for a wild hive, although, on average, a ten-frame manmade hive can easily hold up to 60,000 bees, as long as it feels spacious. This reduced the likelihood of a colony swarming due to overcrowding.
But overcrowding was the least of Glover’s problems. He had to find these bees a new home and figure out a way to transport them safely and securely. Luckily he had a trick for the latter.
