One thing that would count in Glover’s favor was that these bees were happy to stick to their hive. This would save him the time of having to get them to accustom themselves to one of his manmade hives. But he could still run into problems with these temperamental bees.

While in transit, the bees may change their mind and decide not to stick with the hive anymore. If this happens, the bees who leave won’t live very long. To avoid this issue altogether, Glover came up with a genius method of transport.
