Grandma’s Boy
Charles was particularly close with his grandmother, a.k.a. the Queen Mother. They both certainly look delighted to be in each other’s company in this heart-warming picture alongside a tongue-wagging pooch named Pippin. The snap was taken in the early ’50s when the Queen Mother still had a half-century to live!
Charles saw the Queen Mother as a motherly figure, particularly because his mom ascended to the throne when he was young. Due to the mom’s numerous Commonwealth tours, he often stayed with the Queen Mother during her absences.
