School Rules

Lincoln Elementary School is a public primary school with a branch in Grant Pass, Oregon, where Hunter attends. Per school’s rules, the third tardiness means they get a detention. Every tardiness after that will also earn one a detention, and Hunter had already passed that threshold.

Knowing he would be getting detention that morning, the boy was already crying when he arrived. His mom also knew his tardiness would be punished, but she had no idea what it was like.
