Sandie Shaw – Age 75
The beautiful English singer Sandie Shaw is inextricably linked to her 1967 Eurovision Song Contest victory. She became the first British artist to win the competition with her song “Puppet on a String.” Shaw had three number-one singles in Britain and retired from the music industry in 2013.
Four years later, she was appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire. To commemorate her past success, “Puppet on a String” was re-released in 2021 as part of a triple-disc compilation set titled “Now That’s What I Call Eurovision.”
