Betty White – Started At Age 51

Betty White had one of the lengthiest careers in television, starting in the late ’40s after the war. However, the earliest project that most people will remember her for was “The Mary Tyler Moore Show,” which began airing in 1973 when she was 51.

“The Golden Girls” star already had the shortlived “The Betty White Show” by that point. Still, the role of Sue Ann Nivens on the sitcom brought her a new level of stardom.
