Ang Lee – Started At Age 46
As a stay-at-home dad whose molecular biologist wife pursued her professional goals, Ang Lee spent that time writing the screenplay for “Pushing Hands.” It was later produced by a Taiwanese company with him in the directing.
The Taiwan-born film director made history as the first non-white person to win the Best Director award at the Academy Awards for “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.” He was then 46 and repeated the feat in 2012 for his movie “Life of Pi.”
