The American Gun Problem
There’s violence everywhere, but the United States is particularly prone to it. According to data collected by BBC, there are 120.5 firearms per 100 citizens in the country—more than double that of Yemen (the second-highest country in the chart), with 52.8 guns per 100 citizens.
Like Antonett and Mariah, many other Americans lost loved ones to gun violence, as gun-related killings account for 79% of all homicides in the United States. In the United Kingdom, that number sits at 4%.
