The Size of the Honeycombs was Shocking
Glover was actually pretty impressed that the bees produced two honeycombs the way they did. Typically bees create small clusters of honeycomb that are broken up across an area. But in this instance, they created two large honeycombs, one behind the other.
Honeycomb is, of course, what beekeepers harvest for the honey they produce, and this hive would most likely have produced quite a bit of honey. It was also pretty impressive that they were already in the process of generating new queens after losing their old one. But what shocked Glover the most was the overall size of the hive.
