Because of the humid subtropical climate of the southern United States, houses are often built with weep holes in them. These small slits between the bricks serve as outlets for humidity, releasing moisture and ensuring that the bricks don’t degrade and collapse due to water weight.
Being in the south of Tennessee, houses in Germantown are built with several weep holes in them. When Glover did the thermal imaging scan, he noticed that the heat sources all went to the same weep hole right in the back of the house.
