Why Did She Flinch?
Hosting a civil ceremony for a wedding to be legally recognized in Monaco is necessary. The ceremony usually ends with the couple’s first kiss as newlyweds. However, Prince Albert and Charlene’s first kiss on the balcony of the Salon des Glaces was notably awkward.
The Prince had to prompt Charlene to kiss him, and when their lips finally met, she visibly flinched. Throughout the ceremony, he seemed to be whispering words of reassurance to her, even asking her not to cry.
