The Long-Awaited Wedding
The Prince’s Palace of Monaco was the backdrop for a grand royal wedding. The civil ceremony that took place in the throne room on day one lasted twenty minutes and was officiated by Philippe Narmino.
The next day, Archbishop Bernard Barsi led the religious ceremony in the palace courtyard, which included segments in Afrikaans. Following Monegasque custom, Princess Charlene laid her bridal bouquet in the Sainte-Dévote Chapel. The evening celebrated the union with a reception at the Opéra de Monte-Carlo, fireworks, and a ball.
