DISEASE-CARRYING PHONES
A Reviews survey shows that, on average, Americans check their phones 344 times daily, opening up the possibility of microbes transferring from their hands to the devices. Research from Arizona indicates that these devices are ten times more contaminated than toilet seats.
One study even found that a typical high school student’s smartphone can harbor as many as 17,000 bacterial gene copies. Scary! But the good news in all this is that only a few strains of those bacteria are significant disease spreaders.
