THE QUEEN MADE HISTORY WITH HER DEATH
As a testament to her high regard among the people of England, Queen Elizabeth II was laid in state in Westminster Hall for four days, allowing visitors to pay their respects. Her funeral was the first to take place in Westminster Abbey since the 18th century.

The Queen’s final journey from Buckingham Palace began as a slow procession, departing from her former residence towards the oldest building on the Parliamentary estate. Her four children, led by King Charles, followed the coffin at the back.
