NEW YORK—THE CITY OF BITERS
New York City is a popular tourist destination for many reasons, including being home to America’s first pizzeria and the Statue of Liberty. However, it’s also known for having some eccentric residents. According to a study, in 1987, there were more reported cases of human bites in the city than shark bites.
While there were only 13 cases of shark bites on humans, there were a staggering 1,587 reports of people biting other people. And these bites present a high risk of infection.
