Most adults who have ADHD feel a great sense of excitement in a new hobby, career, organization, or anything that sparked an interest. One can get so passionate, like the character who bought a shining guitar.
The momentum of excitement and passion does not usually last in most cases. It eventually decreases, and one could lose complete interest. This is even more evident if frustrations and disappointments come into the picture.
