It’s More Common Than You Think
The National Geographic feature did wonders for the family as it allowed many more people to come forward with similar experiences. In addition, this permitted the skeptics to see how easy it is to confuse a wild animal with a domestic one, especially in its infancy.
It was clear many city dwellers did not incline how to tell these creatures apart. Moreover, if not careful, experts could be fooled too. If people just focused on the animal’s cuteness, it was easy for them to get sidetracked and overlook all the red flags. Even so, sometimes, it would take time before the animal looked remotely close to its adult counterpart.
