The menthol in the ointment has soothing properties that alleviate any discomfort or pain while the eucalyptus oil acts as an anti-inflammatory agent to heal your skin and prevent infections. Simply soak your fingers in warm water, trim off the hangnail and apply a generous layer of Vicks on the affected area.
