Twitter user sixfootcandy took a deflection to a new level when she broke the toaster oven, and pre-emptively texted her husband to accuse him of the misdeed. It’s like a domestic game of Clue, where the culprit tries to frame someone else before the investigation starts.
This is blame-shifting, a classic tactic people use to avoid responsibility. Yet, while we can’t endorse the trickery, we can certainly admire the audacity. Here’s to hoping her husband sees the humor—and maybe invests in a more durable toaster oven.
