This Is Why I Don’t Do Chores
The classic catch-22 of marital chores means some chores will spark trouble whether you do them or not. Marriage seems to be a balancing act of being helpful but not so helpful that the wife’s favorite shirt ends up shrinking in the wash.
Interestingly, this domestic phenomenon also has a name—the “double bind.” It’s where one is given conflicting messages and can’t win either way. So the next time you’re debating whether to touch the laundry, maybe, just maybe, consult her on fabric care before diving in.
