Planes Don’t Carry That Much Gas
Very rarely does an airplane take off with a full jet fuel tank. That’s due to FAA regulations, the plane’s weight limit, and the number of passengers.
Bigger crafts carry more fuel, increasing the overall weight. A plane can’t take off with a full passenger load if its fuel tanks are already at capacity. Then there’s the fact that heavier vessels also use that much more fuel. In most cases, pilots must calculate their fuel requirements ahead of time.
