Big corporations rarely have a soft spot for the underdog. They exist to make cash, period. Also, considering less than 50 percent of businesses survive, there’s no room for regret. And Disney, despite its wholesome image, is no exception.

So, when they showed support for the LGBT community, it wasn’t necessarily out of the goodness of their hearts. As a savvy business move, Disney recognized that catering to a growing market was a smart move. As the saying goes, “Money talks.”
