In the end, everything turned out okay. The pups got a good home and so did Forest. A green dog is a once in a lifetime occurrence and they are one in a million. There are only two basic pigments that determine the color of canines: eumelanin (black) and phaeomelanin (red).

Finding a blue pigment that affects the color of the fur and turns it green is a rare occurrence. If you ever see a dog being born green, then you would know what it is now.
