They made the decision to help Rio and would have to physically do something about this stuck puppy situation. They could not just stand idle and watch as she tried to give birth. Louise recalls an “All hands on deck” kind of situation.
They put on their gloves and came near the dog. They didn’t want to frustrate Rio so they had to be very gentle and careful. They weren’t medical professionals so they weren’t ready for these complications.
