Roberts Blossom in Real Life
Roberts Blossom burst onto the theater scene way back in 1958—so vintage he could have been a prop. By the time he showed up in “Home Alone” in 1990 as Marley, the shovel-toting neighbor, he was easily the granddaddy of gravitas on set.
But don’t box him in; he wasn’t just the “Home Alone” guy. This man got his scare on as Ezra Cobb in “Deranged” and rubbed celluloid shoulders with classics like “The Great Gatsby” and “Close Encounters of the Third Kind.” He said goodbye to acting and has lived as a poet since 1990. Roberts left for his heavenly abode in 2011, but what a ride!
