Smiles All Around
While stingrays can be dangerous and even deadly with their barbed tails, they are not necessarily malicious creatures. Studies also show they do not use their barbs willingly, only as a reflex, and are more likely to swim away from danger than attack.

A 2018 study even suggests that these creatures may enjoy interacting with humans. So, while caution should be exercised around them, they are not inherently aggressive. This photo of a happy stingray photobombing people seems to support that claim.
