Johnny Mathis – Age 87

John Royce Mathis is a renowned American jazz singer-songwriter, who started his musical journey in a church choir and a college band. He secured a recording contract in 1955 after an audition, and his first major hit was the chart-topping number-one hit “Chances Are” in 1957.

Apart from his famous rendition of “Misty” in 1959, Mathis has also gained popularity for his interpretations of other popular Christmas songs. He has produced numerous iconic pop and jazz songs such as “Wild is the Wind,” and “Wonderful! Wonderful!”
