Mel Brooks – Age 96

A trailblazer in the world of comedy, Mel Brooks has brought laughter and joy to audiences around the world for over 70 years. Born in 1926, he began his career as a writer for “Your Show of Shows” in 1949, working alongside the likes of Woody Allen, Larry Gelbart, and Neil Simon.

He soon moved into directing, producing, acting, and even composing, and by the ’70s, he had become one of the most successful filmmakers in the world. “Blazing Saddles,” “History of the World,” and “Spaceballs” are all iconic works.
