Phylicia Rashad – Started At Age 35

In her 20s, Phylicia Rashad acted extensively on stage on and off Broadway. However, her performance in “The Cosby Show” sitcom was why she is recognized today.

The character of Clair Huxtable on the NBC show brought Phylicia two Emmy nods and a solid foundation in Hollywood. She was 35 when she bagged the role and was later anointed “The Mother of the Black Community” during the 2010 NAACP Image Awards.
