Taking Time To Accept A Queen
When bees create their own new queen, it takes them roughly 15 days from fertilization to hatching, and then another five days for it to start reproducing. When introducing a new outside queen bee, it’s a matter of days, and you know whether they like her or not.
Glover started worrying when some of the bees in this hive were ignoring the new queen he had introduced. A few of the workers were taking to her, but he was worried that if they didn’t unanimously accept the queen, he’d lose the colony and his queen.
