Rehabilitation for the Bees
Once he got them to his apiary, the next step was to put them in a new hive. But bees get pretty attached to their homes, and as a result, when they are removed from one location, they need to go through a weening period to adjust to a new place.
This kind of rehab can take a lot of time, which is why Glover was glad that the colony was willing to stick to its hive while in transit. It meant that the bees could go through this procedure in the comfort of his own hive.
