The latest scandal broke during preparations for Prince Albert II and Charlene’s wedding, a period meant for happiness. So, no one can blame Charlene, who was in Paris for her wedding dress fitting, for retreating to the South African embassy.
She even made multiple attempts to leave, once during the Grand Prix and another reaching as far as Nice airport in France. Each time, her efforts were thwarted, with officials even confiscating her passport on one occasion to ensure she stayed.
