Prince Albert II had no choice but to confront the scrutiny surrounding his failure to acknowledge his daughter for 14 years. In an attempt to explain his actions, he stated that his intent had been to “protect his daughter’s privacy.”
This explanation, however, did little to mitigate the years he had disowned her. Despite his earlier lack of responsibility, he insisted he was ready to make amends.
