It Prevents Rusting
Just like refuse decomposes and plants decay, metals rust. But the process is a comlpex one. The rusting process occurs when oxygen combines with the carbon in the iron, giving off heat as a byproduct. Hence, it only happens when metal is exposed to air or water for a long time.
People have claimed that Vicks counteracts the process. Thanks to the menthol, under its cooling process, there will be less heat. The eucalyptus also prevents oxygen from gaining access to the metal. So, with just a substantial application of VapoRub on the iron, rusting can be prevented.
