Here’s a little-known fact: Before the Woodstock festival, the original concept centered around establishing a recording studio in Woodstock, New York, a burgeoning artistic hub renowned for hosting luminaries like Jimi Hendrix and Bob Dylan.
A group of investors spearheaded this project. However, their plans shifted, and instead of a studio, they opted for a grand concert. The name “Woodstock” was chosen due to its link with Bob Dylan, an integral figure in the local scene. Ironically, despite the association, Dylan did not perform at the festival because of last-minute personal circumstances involving his ill child.
