Several Hotly-anticipated Acts Never Arrived

The list of musicians who declined the Woodstock invitation includes notable names like Joni Mitchell. Despite her hippie movement prominence, Joni’s manager dissuaded her due to an upcoming TV show commitment. Interestingly, Stephen Stills and David Crosby, also slated for that same show, still chose to perform at Woodstock.

Much to their fans’ disappointment, The Rolling Stones also missed the event. Mick Jagger was filming a movie, and Keith Richards and his wife had just become parents. Their absence became a significant historical footnote, considering the band’s influence. But at least Santana made it!
