‘’Earth Art’’ Installations
Beyond witnessing iconic performances, attendees at the 1969 Woodstock Music Festival also engaged in various activities. And exploring the festival’s wooden structures was among them.
Before the event, University of Miami art professors Bill Ward and Ron Liis and their students crafted installations termed “earth art” – sculptural arrangements seamlessly blending with the natural landscape. These pieces adorned the festival grounds, including a significant creation named the “playground,” depicted here. The installations enriched the Woodstock experience, adding an interactive and immersive dimension to the event.
