LIVING WITHOUT A HEAD
While humans may be conscious for a few seconds after a beheading, cockroaches can survive headless for several weeks. These pests may be unpleasant to look at, but they are among the few species that can withstand a massive event like the next big bang.
According to Pest World For Kids, cockroaches breathe through tiny openings in each of their body segments, which means they don’t require their mouths or heads for breathing. They eventually die from starvation and thirst, however.
