Moms Know the Hunger Cues

Sunbirds are the epitome of dietary diversity, swooning on nectar and insects alike. They’re a bit different from their hovering hummingbird cousins, preferring to perch while slurping nectar from a wide range of plants. But don’t underestimate their ingenuity. If they can’t quite reach the good stuff in exotic plants, they’ve been known to probe through the petal base, just like when they court hibiscus flowers.
